UNESCO AGH Chair invite you to participate in the conference organized to celebrate World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development 2025. The theme of World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development 2025 (WED 2025) is: Engineering solutions for a sustainable world (shaping our sustainable future through engineering, responsible engineer). Through the conference we would like to invite you to innovate relentlessly, and create a future shaped by our collective ingenuity. From the development of the steam machine, internet and advanced robots to space exploration and renewable energy solutions, engineers have been at the forefront of progress, making our lives more efficient, comfortable, and connected.
This year, the March 4, 2025 event will give the floor to leading scientific and entrepreneurial figures, to illustrate the diversity of issues and contributions linking the engineering profession to the United Nations’ sustainable development goals. This event will highlight the key role played by engineers from all other the world, in advancing the United Nations 2030 Agenda of Sustainable Development Goals.
Selected topics of WED 2025 include also followings: Future Engineer, Human Machine Interface, Engineers’ Good Practices.
The Conference offers a unique opportunity to explore the role of engineering in achieving the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The conference will address key challenges and innovative engineering solutions. The event provides also a platform for inspiration and knowledge exchange among experts, young engineers, and individuals interested in shaping a more sustainable world.
In November 2019, UNESCO proclaimed the World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development (WED) at its 40th General Conference. It is celebrated worldwide on March 4 each year since 2020.
In 2020, this global celebration was renamed World Engineering Day as a joint venture with UNESCO and WFEO to highlight engineers’ achievements around the world and improve the public understanding of the importance of engineering and technology.
